{DIY Monday} Hanging Rose Balls

Happy Monday everyone!  Since posting the pictures from my "Pretty & Posh" collection last week, I have had several inquiries about the hanging pink rose ball featured in one of the shots.

"Did you make it or buy it?"  "How did you make it?"  "Can you show me how to make one?"  "Is it easy?" "What materials do I need?"  "Are they expensive to make?" .... and so on!

Now, I really wish I could take the credit for coming up with the idea for this creative beauty, but I can't. It all started with a late night Internet browsing session.  I was doing one of my craft tutorial searches and happened to come across it.  I bookmarked the page, like I always do, so I could come back to it at a later time.

When I finally had the time to sit down and go through the folder, this little ball of beauty jumped right out at me... if you could see my bookmarked craft folder you'd understand... there's at least 100 different tutorials in there!  Anyway, I quickly looked through the materials list... styrofoam ball ~check, crepe paper ~ check, ribbon ~check, hot glue ~ check... I had everything I needed to get started.

I gathered everything and started following the instructions.  I have to admit that at first I wasn't too sure about the whole thing, but as indicated in the tutorial you'll get the hang of it before too long and before you know it your ball will fill up and look perfect!  So I did just that and am completely pleased with how it turned out.

I found the instructions to be easy to follow and like I said, it turned out exactly as she said it would!

Are you ready to make some pretty rose balls for yourself?  They're perfect for decoration at home, parties, weddings, showers... or just about anywhere for any occasion!

Here's the link to where I found them www.thehouseofsmiths.com.  Now head on over and get crafting, but be warned... before long you'll be addicted to making them like me!

Have a wonderful week!

{Theme Party Tuesday} Move over "Sugar & Spice"....

...there's a new girl in town and she's "Pretty & Posh"!

After several inquiries about whether or not I had any "girly" collections I decided I should get busy on designing one!  After all, I have 3 boys so my party designs up to this point have been pretty male dominant.  I do have to admit that it was a blast working on this collection... from start to finish!  Working with pinks and ruffles and glitters and rhinestones made me wish I had a little girl to design parties for, BUT WAIT... I have yours... minus the moody teenage years (hehe)!!!

The "Pretty & Posh" collection was designed with every girl in mind.  Whether it's her 1st, 5th, 13th, 16th, 18th, 21st, 30th, 40th or 50th Birthday and so on... this collection will stand the test of time.  Oh and it can also be modified for Baby Showers, Wedding Showers, Bachelorette Parties or even "Pink Parties" for Breast Cancer Awareness Month... you dream it and I'll modify it!

The entire collection is now available in my etsy shop and I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed pulling it all together!!

Thanks for looking!

{Freebie Friday} FREE Printable Note Cards... for MOM!!

It's Friday again and for this week's "Freebie Friday" I thought it would be perfect timing to give you something to use for MOM on Sunday!  I recently designed some note card sets and they turned out so cute that I thought, why not share them with you?

Well... that's exactly what I'm going to do!

Just "like" my facebook page... then go to the FREE PRINTABLES album and download the file.  Be sure to print them on a nice cardstock (110lb is good), cut out and fold.  If you want to get creative you can add glitter and rhinestones or whatever your creative heart desires.

Get some envelopes at your local craft or office supply store (if you don't already have some laying around) and tie everything together with a pretty ribbon.  Don't forget a cute little tag too, with a note of love!!

Oh and as a BONUS... I'm posting all 3 of the designs!  Choose one or choose all.

Have fun with them and be sure to share with all of your friends!!

Happy Mother's Day!
